The « pépites of the Bible in its Tradition »

11 January 2023

At the request of several friends in Jerusalem, the permanent researchers of our programme are sharing some of their discoveries with the Jerusalem public this year in the form of simple lectures. Once a month, on Wednesday evenings at 8.30 P.M., a “pépite of the Bible in its traditions” comes out of the BEST laboratory. The public is then introduced to our platform and the wealth of information it contains.

At the first meeting in November, Friar Olivier-Thomas Venard presented the communicative media through which we have had to pass, from wax tablets to digital tablets, to obtain the printed text of today’s Bibles.  The next conference, presented by Father Marie Augustin Tavardon, provided dialogue between the interpretations of the Church Fathers and contemporary biblical exegetes.

The programs forthcoming in 2023 :

  • 18 January : Behold, the Virgin will conceive – Fr.Jorge Vargas-Corvacho
  • 22 March : Dance of the passion (John Neumeier) – Fr.Olivier-Thomas Venard
  • 5 April (Holy Wednesday) : The Eucharist and The Passover seder ‘built in mirror’? – Fr. Olivier Catel
  • 3 May : The Bible and Marian iconography – Sr.Marie Reine Fournier
