The Eclipse of the Soul
The Institut des Sources Chrétiennes is co-organising a conference with the “Confluence Sciences et Humanités” research unit of the Catholic University of Lyon on “The soul at the time of its eclipse: The resources of Christian anthropology”.
Questioning the relevance of the notion of the soul in thinking about human specificity in the current context of its erasure, in the order of the living being as well as in that of man’s relationship with technology, this conference revisits the resources of Christian anthropology from Antiquity to the present day, in search of ways to express “the immeasurable that the human being opens up in the world through its crack of infinity” (F. Jullien).
It will take place at the UCLy, on the Saint-Paul campus, Place des Archives, Lyon 2e, from 16 to 19 March 2022, but can be followed entirely by videoconference.
The program is available here.
