1 My heart overfloweth with a goodly matter; I say: 'My work is concerning a king'; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

1 My heart has uttered a good matter: I declare my works to the king: my tongue is the pen of a quick writer.

1 My heart has uttered a good word. I speak of my works to the king. My tongue is like the pen of a scribe who writes quickly.
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men; grace is poured upon thy lips; therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
Ps44:2 You are a brilliant form before the sons of men. Grace has been poured freely into your lips. Because of this, God has blessed you in eternity.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, thy glory and thy majesty.
Ps44:3 Fasten your sword to your thigh, O most powerful one.
3 Gird your sword upon your thigh, O most mighty, with your glory and your majesty.
4 And in thy majesty prosper, ride on, in behalf of truth and meekness and righteousness; and let thy right hand teach thee tremendous things.
Ps44:4 With your splendor and your excellence extended, proceed prosperously, and reign for the sake of truth and meekness and justice, and so will your right hand lead you wondrously.
5 Thine arrows are sharp--the peoples fall under thee-- they sink into the heart of the king's enemies.
5 Thy weapons are sharpened, Mighty One, (the nations shall fall under thee) they are in the heart of the king’s enemies.
Ps44:5 Your arrows are sharp; the people will fall under you, with the hearts of the enemies of the king.
6 Thy throne given of God is for ever and ever; a sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
Ps44:6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of true aim.
7 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Ps44:7 You have loved justice and hated iniquity. Because of this, God, your God, has anointed you, before your co-heirs, with the oil of gladness.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.
8 Myrrh, and aloes, and cassia are all thy garments; out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad.
Ps44:8 Myrrh and balsam and cinnamon perfume your garments, from the houses of ivory. From these, they have delighted you
8 All your garments smell of myrrh and aloes and cassia, out of the magnificent temple whereby they have made you glad.
9 Kings' daughters are among thy favourites; at thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
9 with which kings’ daughters have gladdened thee for thine honour: the queen stood by on thy right hand, clothed in vesture wrought with gold, and arrayed in divers colours.
Ps44:9 the daughters of kings in your honor. The queen assisted at your right hand, in clothing of gold, encircled with diversity.
10 'Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
Ps44:10 Listen, daughter, and see, and incline your ear. And forget your people and your father’s house.
11 So shall the king desire thy beauty; for he is thy lord; and do homage unto him.
11 Because the king has desired thy beauty; for he is thy Lord.
Ps44:11 And the king will desire your beauty. For he is the Lord your God, and they will adore him.
12 And, O daughter of Tyre, the richest of the people shall entreat thy favour with a gift.'
12 And the daughter of Tyre shall adore him with gifts; the rich of the people of the land shall supplicate thy favour.
Ps44:12 And the daughters of Tyre will entreat your countenance with gifts: all the rich men of the people.
13 All glorious is the king's daughter within the palace; her raiment is of chequer work inwrought with gold.
13 All her glory is that of the daughter of the king of Esebon, robed as she is in golden fringed garments,
Ps44:13 All the glory of the daughter of its king is inside, in golden fringes,
14 She shall be led unto the king on richly woven stuff; the virgins her companions in her train being brought unto thee.
14 in embroidered clothing: virgins shall be brought to the king after her: her fellows shall be brought to thee.
Ps44:14 clothed all around with diversities. After her, virgins will be led to the king. Her neighbors will be brought to you.
15 They shall be led with gladness and rejoicing; they shall enter into the king's palace.
Ps44:15 They will be brought with gladness and exultation. They will be led into the temple of the king.
16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, whom thou shalt make princes in all the land.
Ps44:16 For your fathers, sons have been born to you. You will establish them as leaders over all the earth.
17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the peoples praise thee for ever and ever.
17 They shall make mention of thy name from generation to generation: therefore shall the nations give thanks to thee for ever, even for ever and ever.
Ps44:17 They will remember your name always, for generation after generation. Because of this, people will confess to you in eternity, even forever and ever.
