1 Transgression speaketh to the wicked, methinks-- there is no fear of God before his eyes.
title For the end, by David the servant of the Lord.
1 The transgressor, that he may sin, says within himself, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For it flattereth him in his eyes, until his iniquity be found, and he be hated.
Ps35:2 For he has acted deceitfully in his sight, such that his iniquity will be found to be hatred.
2 He is unwilling to see his sins forgiven, or to hate them.
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; he hath left off to be wise, to do good.
4 He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
4 He devises iniquity on his bed; he gives himself to every evil way; and does not abhor evil.
Ps35:4 He has been considering iniquity on his bed. He has set himself on every way that is not good; moreover, he has not hated evil.
5 Thy lovingkindness, O YHWH, is in the heavens; Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the skies.
5 O Lord, thy mercy is in the heaven; and thy truth reaches to the clouds.
Ps35:5 Lord, your mercy is in heaven, and your truth is even to the clouds.
6 Thy righteousness is like the mighty mountains; Thy judgments are like the great deep; man and beast Thou preservest, O YHWH.
Ps35:6 Your justice is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are a great abyss. Men and beasts, you will save, O Lord.
7 How precious is Thy lovingkindness, O God! and the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Thy wings.
7 How hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of thy wings.
Ps35:7 How you have multiplied your mercy, O God! And so the sons of men will hope under the cover of your wings.
8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Thy house; and Thou makest them drink of the river of Thy pleasures.
8 They shall be fully satisfied with the fatness of thine house; and thou shalt cause them to drink of the full stream of thy delights.
Ps35:8 They will be inebriated with the fruitfulness of your house, and you will give them to drink from the torrent of your enjoyment.
9 For with Thee is the fountain of life; in Thy light do we see light.
Ps35:9 For with you is the fountain of life; and within your light, we will see the light.
10 O continue Thy lovingkindness unto them that know Thee; and Thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
10 Extend thy mercy to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Ps35:10 Extend your mercy before those who know you, and your justice to these, who are upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride overtake me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Ps35:11 May arrogant feet not approach me, and may the hand of the sinner not disturb me.
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen; they are thrust down, and are not able to rise.
12 There have all the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast out, and shall not be able to stand.
Ps35:12 In that place, those who work iniquity have fallen. They have been expelled; they were not able to stand.
