A Psalm of David. Maschil. Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is pardoned.

The understanding of David himself. Blessed are they whose iniquities have been forgiven and whose sins have been covered.

BLESSED is he whose transgression is forgiven and whose sin is blotted out.

Happy is the man unto whom YHWH counteth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin, and whose mouth there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones wore away through my groaning all the day long.

Because I kept silence, my bones waxed old, from my crying all the day.

For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; my sap was turned as in the droughts of summer. Selah

For, day and night, your hand was heavy upon me. I have been converted in my anguish, while still the thorn is piercing.

I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid; I said: 'I will make confession concerning my transgressions unto YHWH'--and Thou, Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

I have acknowledged my offense to you, and I have not concealed my injustice. I said, “I will confess against myself, my injustice to the Lord,” and you forgave the impiety of my sin.

For this let every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely, when the great waters overflow, they will not reach unto him.

Therefore shall every holy one pray to thee in a fit time: only in the deluge of many waters they shall not come nigh to him.

For this, everyone who is holy will pray to you in due time. Yet truly, in a flood of many waters, they will not draw near to him.

Thou art my hiding-place; Thou wilt preserve me from the adversary; with songs of deliverance Thou wilt compass me about. Selah

You are my refuge from the tribulation that has surrounded me. You are my exultation: rescue me from those who are surrounding me.

'I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will give counsel, Mine eye being upon thee.'

I will give you understanding, and I will instruct you in this way, in which you will walk. I will fix my eyes upon you.

I have made you to understand and have led you on the way which you shall take; I will follow you with my eyes.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding; whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, that they come not near unto thee.

Do not become like the horse and the mule, which have no understanding. Their jaws are constrained with bit and bridle, so as not to draw near to you.

Be not as the horse or as the mule, which have no understanding, which must be subdued with bit and bridle from their youth; no one goes near them.

10  Many are the sorrows of the wicked; but he that trusteth in YHWH, mercy compasseth him about.

10  The wicked has many sorrows; but he that trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.

11  Be glad in YHWH, and rejoice, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

11  Rejoice in the Lord and exult, you just ones, and glory, all you upright of heart.
