Proverbs 9:1–6

Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars;

Wisdom has built a house for herself, and set up seven pillars.

She hath prepared her meat, she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

She has immolated her victims. She has mixed her wine and set forth her table.

She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mingled her wine; she has also prepared her table.

She hath sent forth her maidens, she calleth, upon the highest places of the city

She has sent forth her servants, calling with a loud proclamation to the feast, saying,

She has sent her maids to call out to the tower and to the fortified walls of the city,

'Whoso is thoughtless, let him turn in hither'; as for him that lacketh understanding, she saith to him

“If anyone is little, let him come to me.” And to the unwise, she has said

Whosoever is simple, let him come to me; as for him who lacks understanding, she said to him,

'Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

“Approach. Eat my bread, and drink the wine that I have mixed for you.

Forsake all thoughtlessness, and live; and walk in the way of understanding.

Leave folly, that ye may reign for ever; and seek wisdom, and improve understanding by knowledge.

Leave behind childishness. And live and walk by the ways of prudence.”
