1 And YHWH spoke unto Moses, saying
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2 'Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them; and they shall be unto thee for the calling of the congregation, and for causing the camps to set forward.
2 “Make for yourself two trumpets of ductile silver, with which you may be able to call together the multitude when the camp is to be moved.
2 Make two trumpets of silver; of casting work shall you make them, that you may use them for the calling of the assembly and for the journeying of the camps.
3 And when they shall blow with them, all the congregation shall gather themselves unto thee at the door of the tent of meeting.
3 And thou shalt sound with them, and all the congregation shall be gathered to the door of the tabernacle of witness.
3 And when you sound the trumpets, all the multitude shall gather to you at the door of the tabernacle of the covenant.
4 And if they blow but with one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
4 And if they shall sound with one, all the rulers even the princes of Israel shall come to thee.
4 If you sound it only once, the leaders and the heads of the multitude of Israel shall come to you.
5 And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.
5 And ye shall sound an alarm, and the camps pitched eastward shall begin to move.
5 But if the sound of the trumpets is prolonged, but with interruptions, those who are toward the east side shall move the camp first.
6 And when ye blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall set forward; they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
6 And ye shall sound a second alarm, and the camps pitched southward shall move; and ye shall sound a third alarm, and the camps pitched westward shall move forward; and ye shall sound a fourth alarm, and they that encamp toward the north shall move forward: they shall sound an alarm at their departure.
6 Then, at the second sounding of the trumpet with the same cadence, those who live toward the south shall take up their tents. And the remainder shall act in like manner, when the trumpets shall reverberate for a departure.
7 But when the assembly is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
7 And whenever ye shall gather the assembly, ye shall sound, but not an alarm.
7 But when the people are to be gathered together, the sound of the trumpets shall be simple, and the sounds shall not be separated.
8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for a statute for ever throughout your generations.
8 Now it is the sons of Aaron the priest who shall sound the trumpets. And this shall be an everlasting ordinance, in your generations.
9 And when ye go to war in your land against the adversary that oppresseth you, then ye shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before YHWH your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
9 If you go forth to war from your land, against the enemies who set out against you, you shall sound the trumpets repeatedly, and there shall be a remembrance of you before the Lord your God, so that you may be rescued from the hands of your enemies.
9 And if you go to war in your land against the enemies that oppress you, you shall blow with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be delivered from your enemies.
10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed seasons, and in your new moons, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am YHWH your God.'
10 If at any time you will have a banquet, and on feast days, and on the first days of the months, you shall sound the trumpets over the holocausts and the peace-offering victims, so that they may be for you as a remembrance by your God. I am the Lord your God.”
10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your LORD God: I am the LORD your God. And the LORD said to Moses: There are many of you dwelling in this mountain. Turn around and journey. And go to the mountain of Amorites and to all dwellers of the deserts, and to mountain, and to the valley of the south, and to the sea shore of the land of Cananites, and unto the Lebanon, unto the great river, river Ephrates. See, I give before you the land. And now come and occupy the land which I swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaach, an to Jacob, to give to the seed after them.
