Jer51:1  THE WORD WHICH JEREMIAS THE PROPHET spoke to Baruch son of Nerias, when he wrote these words in the book from the mouth of Jeremias, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda.

'Thus saith YHWH, the God of Israel, concerning thee, O Baruch: Thou didst say

Jer51:2  Thus has the Lord said to thee, O Baruch.

“Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to you, Baruch

Woe is me now! for YHWH hath added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.

Jer51:3  Whereas thou hast said, Alas! alas! for the Lord has laid a grievous trouble upon me; I lay down in groaning, I found no rest;

You have said: ‘Woe to me, a wretched man! For the Lord has added sorrow to my sorrow. I have labored in my groaning, and I have not found rest.’

Thus shalt thou say unto him: Thus saith YHWH: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

Thus says the Lord: So shall you say to him: Behold, those whom I have built up, I destroy, and those whom I have planted, I uproot, even this entire land.

And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not; for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith YHWH; but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.'

And are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not choose to seek them. For behold, I will lead evil over all that is flesh, says the Lord. But I will give your life to you unto salvation, in every place, wherever you may travel.”
