1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And YHWH showed him all the land, even Gilead as far as Dan;
1 And Moses went up from Araboth Moab to the mount of Nabau, to the top of Phasga, which is before Jericho; and the Lord shewed him all the mount of Galaad to Dan, and all the land of Nephthali,
1 Therefore, Moses ascended from the plains of Moab onto Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, opposite Jericho. And the Lord revealed to him the entire land of Gilead, as far as Dan,
2 and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the hinder sea;
2 This verse is excluded.
3 and the South, and the Plain, even the valley of Jericho the city of palm-trees, as far as Zoar.
3 and the wilderness, and the country round about Jericho, the city of palm-trees, to Segor.
3 This verse is excluded.
4 And YHWH said unto him: 'This is the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying: I will give it unto thy seed; I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.'
4 And the Lord said to Moses, This is the land of which I sware to Abraam, and Isaac, and Jacob, saying, To your seed will I give it: and I have shewed it to thine eyes, but thou shalt not go in thither.
5 So Moses the servant of YHWH died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the YHWH.
5 And Moses, the servant of the Lord, died in that place, in the land of Moab, by order of the Lord.
6 And he was buried in the valley in the land of Moab over against Beth-peor; and no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
6 And they buried him in Gai near the house of Phogor; and no one has seen his sepulchre to this day.
6 And he buried him in the valley of the land of Moab, opposite Peor. And no man knows where his sepulcher is, even to the present day.
7 And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dimmed, nor were his teeth displaced.
8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; so the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.
8 And the sons of Israel wept for him in the plains of Moab for thirty days. And then the days of their wailing, during which they mourned Moses, were completed.
9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as YHWH commanded Moses.
9 Truly, Joshua, the son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the sons of Israel were obedient to him, and they did as the Lord instructed Moses.
10 And there hath not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom YHWH knew face to face;
10 And there rose up no more a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
11 in all the signs and the wonders, which YHWH sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;
11 one with all the signs and wonders, which he sent through him, to perform in the land of Egypt, against Pharaoh, and all his servants, and his entire land,
12 and in all the mighty hand, and in all the great terror, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.
12 the great wonders, and the mighty hand which Moses displayed before all Israel.
12 nor one with such a powerful hand and such great miracles as Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
