6 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the Galatian region, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit from speaking the word in Asia,
6 Then they traveled through the countries of PhrygÆi-a and Ga-laÆtia, and the Holy Spirit forbade them to speak the word of God in Asia Minor.
7 having come to Mysia they attempted to go to Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.
7 and when they were come over against Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia; and the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not;
8 So they bypassed Mysia, and went down to Troas.
8 Then, when they had crossed through Mysia, they descended to Troas.
8 And when they had left MysÆia, they came to the country of TroÆas.
9 And a vision appeared during the night to Paul. A certain man of Macedonia was standing, urging him, and saying, "Come across to Macedonia and help us."
9 And a vision in the night was revealed to Paul of a certain man of Macedonia, standing and pleading with him, and saying: “Cross into Macedonia and help us!”
9 And, in a vision of the night, there appeared to Paul a man resembling a Mac-edoÆni- an, standing and begging him, saying, Come over to Mac-e-doÆni-a and help me.
10 Now when he saw the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that YHWH had called us to preach the gospel to them.
10 Then, after he saw the vision, immediately we sought to set out for Macedonia, having been assured that God had called us to evangelize to them.
10 And after Paul had seen this vision, we were desirous to leave for Mac-e-doÆni-a at once, because we understood that our LORD had called us to preach the gospel to them.
