44 On the coming Sabbath, almost all the city was assembled to hear the word of God.
44 And the next sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.
44 Yet truly, on the following Sabbath, nearly the entire city came together to hear the Word of God.
45 And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.
45 Then the Jews, seeing the crowds, were filled with envy, and they, blaspheming, contradicted the things that were being said by Paul.
46 But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas said firmly: “It was necessary to speak the Word of God first to you. But because you reject it, and so judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
46 Then Paul and BarÆna-bas said to them boldly, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but because you reject it, you have decided against yourselves and you are unworthy of everlasting life, so behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 For so YHWH has commanded us: 'I have set you to be a light of the nations, that you should be for salvation to the end of the earth.' "
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.
47 For so has the Lord instructed us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of YHWH. And as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
48 And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
48 Then the Gentiles, upon hearing this, were gladdened, and they were glorifying the Word of the Lord. And as many as believed were preordained to eternal life.
49 And the word of YHWH was being spread throughout all the region.
49 Now the word of the Lord was disseminated throughout the entire region.
50 But the Jews incited the devout and prominent women and the leading [men] of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out from their borders.
50 But the Jews stirred up the chief men of the city and the rich women who worshipped God with them, so that they stirred up a persecution against Paul and BarÆna-bas, and expelled them beyond their borders.
51 But shaking off the dust from their feet against them, they went to Iconium.
51 And as they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and they came to the city of I-coÆni-um.
52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
52 The disciples were likewise filled with gladness and with the Holy Spirit.
