14  And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up unto the house of YHWH, and spread it before the YHWH.

14  And Ezekias took the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and he went up to the house of the Lord, an Ezekias spread it before the Lord,

14  And so, when Hezekiah had received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and had read it, he ascended to the house of the Lord, and he spread it out before the Lord.

15  And Hezekiah prayed before YHWH, and said: 'O YHWH, the God of Israel, that sittest upon the cherubim, Thou art the God, even Thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; Thou hast made heaven and earth.

15  and said, O Lord God of Israel that dwellest over the cherubs, thou art the only god in all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

15  And he prayed in his sight, saying: “O Lord, God of Israel, who sits upon the cherubim, you alone are God, over all the kings of the earth. You made heaven and earth.

16  Incline Thine ear, O YHWH, and hear; open Thine eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, wherewith he hath sent him to taunt the living God.

16  Incline your ear, and listen. Open your eyes, O Lord, and see. And hear all the words of Sennacherib, who sent so that he might reproach the living God before us.

16  O LORD, incline thine ear and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent messages to reproach the living God.

17  Of a truth, YHWH, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,

17  For truly, Lord, the kings of Assyria have wasted the nations,

17  Truly, O Lord, the kings of the Assyrians have devastated all peoples and lands.

18  and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.

18  And they have cast their gods into the fire. For they were not gods, but instead were the works of men’s hands, out of wood and stone. And so they destroyed them.

19  Now therefore, O YHWH our God, save Thou us, I beseech Thee, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that Thou art YHWH God, even Thou only.'

19  And now, O Lord our God, deliver us out of his hand, and all the kingdoms of the earth shall know that thou alone art the Lord God.

19  Now therefore, O Lord our God, bring us salvation from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone are the Lord God.”
