Two papers will directly deal with our project during the upcoming SBL meeting held in Boston, MA from 11/18/2017 to 11/21/2017

« Going Deep and Beyond the Expectations of a Term Paper: Student Contributions to the Website Bible in Its Traditions, » in the program unit Academic Teaching and Biblical Studies.
Saturday, the 18th of November, 10.40-11.00 SB Republic S-18-109
The paper describes an experiment where graduate students contributed to this site as a class project in a doctoral-level seminar. The project focused on a section of the Gospel of Luke from which each student selected a passage and wrote on as many aspects as possible on the website, thus broadening the documentary basis beyond the narrower scope needed for a term paper.
Olivier-Thomas Venard (École biblique, Jerusalem) will present
« Volumen, Codex, Hexapla, Polyglott, Database: Can One Single Digital Interface Encapsulate the History of the Book? (A Critical Presentation of The Bible in Its Traditions Digital Scroll: scroll.bibletraditions.org), » in the program unit Digital Humanities in Biblical, Early Jewish, and Christian Studies.
Monday, the 20th of November, 5:15pm – 5:40pm, SB-Commonwealth S20-317
This paper will provide a guided “tour” of an online workshop of bibletraditions.org, Present the unique ergonomy of the resulting scroll — scroll.bibletraditions.org —, going over its different features (display of texts, of notes, of synthetic notes, of introductions, search engine…) and relating them to the main moments in the history of the transmission of the biblical texts, so as to situate The Bible in Its Traditions among the “ancient and modern medias”.
